| lol yes its one more of my 'revelation' posts ! This summer has been FULL of revelations, not even kidding ! I'm still on my streak of change =) ... Theres one thing I realized about myself that I consider really important. That is that I'm probably one of the most 'colorful' people I know. And thats not always necesarily a good thing but not a bad thing either.
The bad thing is that when I'm angry at someone or something, I tend to express it more than others. Like if I'm going through a mood swing , I can't hide it, instead I deal with it by letting it out completely. I'm not quiet about these things. I say what I feel. And of course this isn't always the best approach ! But thats changing =)
The good thing is that this colorfulness alsoo comes with an eagerness to learn, to experience new situations, to try out more, to meet new people, to see new places, and to make people smile somehow or the other.... Just lying down and staring at the ceiling last night, made me think of a lot. I realized that most of the time the things that upsetted me in the past were the things that were coming in the way of what I wanted to be or what I actually was. I'm not the kind of person who makes 5 friends and ONLY hangs out with those 5 good friends. I'm the kind that likes to meet people in all walks of life and get to know all of them and make a lot of different friends to hang out with, along with some best friends of course. I made some really good friends over my last 3 yrs in college, and they were all part of completely different groups, many of them didnt even know each other. I feel really blessed to have been given the chance to experience such different friendships and not just rely on the same ones for 3 yrs(though that isn't neccesarily bad either, its just not me) . This summer, I met people who I wouldnt necessarily be best friends with if they went to my school but just working in the same company and being in the same situation and city just made me so close to a lot of people. Thats when I realized that this is me, I cant live life by a schedule and do the same thing everyday, I need adventure ! I love going out dancing, for walks, running in the rain, admiring clear starry skies, making friends in the park lol, making people who are angry smile and be happy. I love reading to children, partying, dancing of course, making others dance lol , travelinggggg, learning different languages, watching foreign films and MUCH MORE.....I really want it all. Thats one thing i realized this summer. I knew I was adventurous but I didn't think I was this colorful as I now know I am ! Even experiences-wise my life has been really colorful, a lot of light colors with some dark spots here and there from childhood, but beautiful on the whole !!
Hmm all this made me kinda decide on what I do want to do in the near future.
I'm volunteering at a nursing home next quarter which should be a lot of fun. I get to read to the blind, its one of my dreams( I have always wanted to do that since my eye surgeries). The quarter after the sasa show will take over my life ! I'm also choreographing dances for some little kids 9-13 yr olds in Barrington which is a suburb about 40 mins away every weekend...that will be a blast too ! Spring quarter= no classes, I will work instead in chicago most likely. Grad school the year after in NU most likely, and then the traveling starts ! first destination = Switzerland, a biggie for BME companies =) ..cant wait.
ahhh I've never felt so driven ! SOOOO MUCH to do SOO LITTLE TIME ! eeeeee
I love my friends family life and myself hehe ! gnite ! <3
| Ok so I stick by my words ! Federer is my herooo ! Especially after seeing how he played today. Ok so I have to admit Nadal did do better in the rallies and improved A LOT but Federer definitely has the gift of being able to recuperate after being down on any set. He takes a while, but he definitely finds a way to target his opponents weakness which is what he did in the 2006 US Open as well. Watching Federer play on any court is so exciting partly because he doesnt overdo the expressions on his face after looking a set or even making a silly error. Its hard to detect the pressure he is experiencing and impossible to detect his emotions. Thats definitely one thing that I LOVE about him, this mysterious image. Granted he might not have the best cross-court shots and rallies as Nadal, but unlike a lot of players he has the most variety in his shots and can somehow recover quickly. His serves might not be as fast as Roddick but his spins on the serves are impeccable. 24 aces today ! amazing ! He definitely goes down in the list of people I'm dying to meet.
Secret ingredients to victory = Federer's backhand + Nadals power+ Nadals speed + Federers net skills + Nadals baseline shots + Federer's ACES + Federer's recuperation + Federer's calm attitude
ahh these are the days when I crave to learn tennis ! =(
ooo best part of the day was my phone bill ! so i think i called or recieved calls from Delhi, India every 10 minutes form my grandparents who actually stayed up to watch the match ! I can't even count the number of times I called them....its so exciting to discus tennis with them. My grandma sits there and says something pessimistic about Federer lol even though she wants him to win ! She keeps on saying hes going to loose continuously, its hilarious ! My grandad on the other hand is neutral, and has a more rational outlook to the match. So arguing on the phone with them in a fun way, just made the match 20 X more fun ! At the end, my grandad and I jokingly decided that we would prayyyyy for Federer at the temple after that horrible 2-6 set loss... lol we both were dubious about his play during that match, but he ended up proving everyone wrong AGAIN which was amazing. At the end my grandma and I decided that it was about time my marriage proposal got sent to Federer haha.
ya so I think I'm definitely in LOVE ! with Federer of course ;) ...
| Do you know the relationship between two eyes..? they blink together, they move together, they cry together, they see things together and they sleep together BUT THEY NEVER SEE EACH OTHER
=)
quote of the day !
Is it normal for someone to change in a couple of weeks? Somehow ever since I got home to Minnesota I mean, I've felt like a much stronger person. I don't really know what it is, but haven't let things upset me, gotten over many fears that I had, and definitely become much better at my eating habits. Maybe it was the fact that I was around my ENTIRE family, the youngest to the oldest generations, that helped me change. I guess people tend to become stronger when they're with people they love most. Being around my grandparents and cousins and hearing their stories or hearing them talk in general helped me see a lot of things clearly, I realized how trivial the things I complain about are and how trivial the things that upset me are sometimes. I mean my Nani and Nana(grandma and grandpa) had been through so much when they were my age, struggling to get college fees filled up, getting married early and dealing with the problems that come along with young marriages and even the war.. I know one shouldn't compare oneself to others, but it definitely helps one get over his/her issues when they think of others and other situations. Not only did my grandparents somewhat awaken me, but also my little 11 yr cousin. I remember her last night in the US, we just lay down and spoke ALL night. The conversation ended up being a long speech of advice given BY a 11yr old to a 20 yr old. She was helping me deal with my problems, and giving me advice on relationships =) . And you know what, out of everyone I've spoken to thus far, shes been the best consoler and advice giver ! wow right !
Anyway, yes so I definitely feel stronger, and more driven after coming back from home. Not only that, I can now also cook, and drive well ! , and eat healthy, and do some daily workout exercises. Cooking was always a fear I had had, maybe just because my entire family cooks amazingly well and I was scared of screwing up =) ..but ever since I've moved to Indiana I've been cooking for myself almost everyday, mostly dif kinds of pasta ! Its a start right? Driving has also been a fear, I guess I'd seen too many accidents in movies and on the road that it sorta made me hesitant to drive, esp on the freeways. I had also lost a cousin when I was young due to a road accident which I guess has also always been at the back of my mind.. but gotten over that fear too ! I drove A LOT over break..and actually enjoyed it ! oo and I've also switched to eating well, like I actually have breakfast before leaving for work , never used to ! Breakfast= oatmeal+ orange juice , Lunch= a light packed up sandwich, Dinner= pasta or something else thats kinda light ! lol ok maybe its not a big deal, but I have never been under such schedules so its a big deal for me, and I'm loving it . Yup and I do a little bit of yoga everymorning and then some exercises when I get back.
O there is one more thing that has CHANGED ! my music ! lately, I've been ADDICTED to SINATRA ! OMG ! words cant explain how much I love his music. I don't know what got me into this phase, maybe all the Michael Buble I was listening to? which reminds me, that I love Michael Buble's music as well, not as much as Sinatra of course. Ok official favorite song , that I listen to ALL day EVERYDAY is 'Something Stupid' by Frank Sinatra and Nancy Sinatra ... I also love the song 'Moondance' by Michael Buble.
SOOO this week, WIMBLEDON ! cant wait ! Federer has to win , esp. after what happened at the French Open ! I was upset about that final for a week ! Still a little upset hehehe . Everyone in my family was teasing me about how they should send a marriage proposal to federer for me haha. I didn't argue ;) lol. My dream would definitely be to sit down and chat with him . I'm sure a lot of people have that dream =) . ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok enough writing for today. Actually Im gonna end with the lyrics to my new favorite song 'Something Stupid' by Sinatra, you can listen to it here Something Stupid by Frank and Nancy Sinatra:
I know I stand in line until you think you have the time to spend an evening with me, And if we go some place to dance I know that theres a chance you wont be leaving with me. And afterwards we drop into a quiet little place and have a drink or two. And then I go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like I Love U.
I can see it in your eyes that you despise the same old lies you heard the night before, And though its just a line to you, for me its true its never seemed so right before. I practice everyday to find some clever lines to say to make the meaning come through. And then I think I'll wait until the evening gets late and I'm alone with you.
The time is right, your perfume fills my head , the stars get red, and o the nights so blue. And then I go and spoil it all by saying somethign stupid like I Love U.
I love you.....
